The e ect of spatially dependent heating on the thermalequilibria of coronal loopsC
نویسنده
چکیده
The thermal equilibria along a symmetric coronal loop with constant cross-sectional area is investigated in the absence of gravity. A coronal heating function that depends on distance along the loop is considered and the eeects of varying the values of the parameters involved in the governing equations are studied. It is found that there is a critical decay length of the heating below which a hot coronal loop does not exist. It is suggested that thermal non-equilibrium occurs, allowing the existence of catastrophic cooling and it is shown that prominence-type equilibria are possible. A study of the stability of the equilibrium up to a second order approximation is presented, and it is found that the response of the structure not only depends on the amplitude of the disturbance, but also on whether the disturbance increases or decreases the equilibrium temperature.

Solute Transport for Pulse Type Input Point Source along Temporally and Spatially Dependent Flow
In the present study, analytical solutions are obtained for two-dimensional advection dispersion equation for conservative solute transport in a semi-infinite heterogeneous porous medium with pulse type input point source of uniform nature. The change in dispersion parameter due to heterogeneity is considered as linear multiple of spatially dependent function and seepage velocity whereas seepag...

متن کاملEFFECTS OF DESMOPRESSIN ON MEMORY DISORDERS DUE TO ELECTROCONVULSIVE THERAPY (ECT) IN HUMANS
Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is an efficient treatment for several neuropsychiatric disorders however a large number of patients develop memory impairment after ECT. Different studies both on animals and human suggest that vasopressin has positive effects on memory and improves cognitive functions. In this randomized, double-blind controlled clinical trial, 50 patients with psychiatric d...
متن کاملVariations of blood glucose level in non-diabetic patients before and after Electroconvulsive Therapy
Introduction: Application of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for the induction of generalized seizure was first introduced in 1938. It is applied for disorders as severe depression particularly for cases which do not respond to drug therapy, or during pregnancy when medication is detrimental to the fetus. The debate on the effect of ECT on blood glucose level is still contradictory. However, st...
متن کاملEffects of clonidine on the hemodynamic changes of electroconvulsive therapy
Introduction: Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is an effective treatment for many psychological disorders, mainly major depression and schizophrenia which is often associated with some complications such as hypertension, tachycardia arrhythmia and even myocardial infarction. Various methods have been used for prevention or control of these cardiovascular side effects. The aim of this study was ...
